LET'S PREPARE FOR YOUR UPCOMING HEADSHOTS!

Hey There! My name is Fred Kirkhart and I will be your headshot photographer. I will be coaching you throughout your entire session to ensure we get the best shots. Whatever your profession or industry, my job is to make sure you look like you’re the best in the business

WHAT TO WEAR

I suggest avoiding busy patterns, textures or distracting necklines & sleeves. Solid, neutral colors usually look great. I have photographed hundreds of people and can safely say there is no blanket color that should be avoided. My rule is if you love it, wear it because if you feel great in it, you'll look great in it. Try to have your clothes pressed and cleaned before our shoot to enhance the overall look of your headshots. Check your company policy and guidelines to make sure it complies.

MAKE UP

Unless you have a specific style you wear, keep it simple. A natural look usually shoots best. For your eyes, stick to light, natural colors. No hard lines/eyeliner over the eye as this will diminish your eyes. Light mascara with a natural lash with make your eyes pop. Fake lashes can block the light getting into the eyes and they won't end up popping like we want them to. Stay away from SPF/Sunscreen makeup on the day of your shoot as this can make you look pale on camera. MOST importantly, blend all your makeup like your life depends on it! If you are unsure how much or how little to use, start with a light application and bring your makeup to the studio. We can always add more as we go.

HAIR

Style your hair like you would for an important meeting. As I said before, when you feel good, you look good. Feel free to bring any hair products or tools to the studio with you for touch ups.

EYE GLASSES

If you wear eyeglasses, be advised that a lot of them glare. Even the anti-glare option tend to have varying amounts and colors of glare. If you have multiple pairs, bring them along so we can find the best fit.

HYDRATE

Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! Drink plenty of water several days before your shoot and moisturize your skin the night before your session. Hydrated skin looks great on camera!
